Zauber Brewing Company is a brand new brewery located in Columbus, Ohio. We were asked to make a safety railing for their roof, to comply with code regarding their new vent in the roof right above their main brewing set up.
The images below are Google Maps Street View combined with a 3d rendering created in Solidworks. They were used to give the most accurate image possible of the work we proposed. We find that when talking about something that has never been made before, 2 peoples ideas of what the end result will look like can differ greatly, so its best to cut right through that ambiguity and make sure we are all on the same page.
The railing is meant to serve the dual purpose of
1) providing a safety railing for anyone performing maintenance on the vent
2) due to its location on the roof right above the main entrance, it serves as a possible location for signage.
The railing is steel tubing that has been powdercoated for extreme durability under the harsh environmental conditions.
Speaking of harsh environmental conditions… the installation of this railing just so happened to occur on the coldest night of the year, on an icy roof. But, thats what had to be done to meet the inspection deadline and we didn’t want to be responsible for all that glorious beer not getting made and out to the public on time!
