Sit/stand Desk Part 1 – Shopbot

We were approached by a fellow Columbus Idea Foundry member who wanted a custom desk that he could sit and stand at. The desk is made of solid maple butcher block with a drawer that slides out made of alternating maple and walnut butcher block.  The legs are steel and the bottom hinges out of the way to allow the desk to be at seated height.

• The first step is to cut the 6′ by 3′ maple butcher block on the Shopbot CNC Router
• Next we used the Shopbot to cut dado pockets for the under structure of the drawer
