Here we are working late into the night on fellow Columbus Idea Foundry member Kathleen Williams’ latest art piece. It’s going to be a medical device that forces the patient to take pills.
ReFab Studio and The Columbus Idea Foundry will be featured at the Woodworking Show in Columbus Ohio this Weekend (Feb 3-5). We decided to quickly print out some fun Zombie Shooting Targets using the Shopbot CNC router.
Sit and stand desk: The desk gets assembled next the sit/stand and drawer slide functionalities are tested.
Sit and Stand Desk. The next step in the desk is to build the structure underneath for the drawer, which slides out and has room for a power strip and provides a place for cord management as well as a place to secure a laptop to to prevent theft.

How to Shopbot Aluminum: We did some experiments with machining aluminum with The Columbus Idea Foundry’s Shopbot CNC machine. We had both success and failure (which itself is a success, when experimenting).

We have been using the Columbus Idea Foundry’s Shopbot CNC Router to make a prototype of an arcade cabinet. It is made with black melamine, it has a 27″ monitor, and cupholders!
